A Taste of Boston

On today’s adventure in the city, my sister and I had breakfast in the North End and lunch in Chinatown. Feast your eyes:

A lobster tail pastry, filled with rich ricotta cream, from Mike’s Pastry on Hanover Street. My sister insisted it was all air, but neither of us could finish more than half of one! I probably should have opted for a fresh cannoli instead, but at least now I have leftovers.

Soup dumplings, from Dumpling Cafe on Washington Street.

They are dumplings. With soup in them. In them! This is a thing, apparently, and I lived 30 years of my life without being aware of them. I can’t wait to try to figure out how to make them at home! My sister had to show me how to eat them, and I still ended up wearing some of it.
