I know that a lot of guacamole recipes promise a thick, chunky result, but I like a nice, smooth guac with a garlic kick. I’m also not a huge fan of cilantro, so I usually omit it. Once you get a feel for the recipe, it’s easy to adjust one way or another to suit your own tastes.

  • 3-4 Hass avocados, halved, seeded and peeled
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic, smashed and peeled
  • 2-3 Fresno chili peppers, seeded and chopped
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

In a food processor, combine onion, garlic and chili peppers with avocado. Add lime juice, cilantro and salt. Process until smooth. Top with sour cream, if desired.
