Homemade alfredo sauce is almost as scarily easy as pesto. I haven’t bought a jar of the stuff since I figured this out. I throw in chili flakes, because I love a spicy kick in everything, but you can just as easily make it without if you’re not feeling it.
Right now, my favorite pasta for this is Ronzoni’s Garden Delight, which boasts a full serving of veggies in every serving and comes in festive tri-color.
- 1/2 butter, cut up
- 8 oz cream cheese, cut up
- 1 c light cream
- 1/3 c grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
In a medium saucepan, melt together butter, cream cheese and light cream. Add parmesan and seasonings, and stir until smooth.
